WASHINGTON, D.C. — A voluntary recall is underway for hundreds of cases of Favorite Day Bakery Frosted Sugar Cookies sold at Target stores due to potential contamination by a “foreign material,” according to a notice from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The recall, initiated on July 22 by Give and Go Prepared Foods Corp. in Canada, affects 803 cases of the cookies. The FDA notice indicates the foreign material is potentially wood.
The recalled product, a 10-count package of Favorite Day Bakery Frosted Sugar Cookies, was distributed to Target locations in 20 states and Washington, D.C. The recall is classified as a Class II recall, which the FDA defines as a situation where a product “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.”
