PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) - A woman was found dead inside a home where a man was barricaded and in a standoff with the Portland Police Bureau for hours on Sunday.

At about 6:30 p.m., officers responded to a welfare check in the area of Southeast 170th Avenue and Southeast Division Street. According to police, a man called 911 to report a woman was dead in the home.

When officers arrived, police said they found a man barricaded inside the home, and “likely armed.”

PPB called for support from tactical crews and crisis negotiator teams.

A short time later, police said tactical teams breached the front door and found a woman dead in the home. The woman, whose name has not been released was removed from the home, while the man remained barricaded inside.
