Inoticed some recent activity on one of my old Facebook postings, one that depicted the Whitehorse waterfront and the shipyard many, many years ago. The colour image, which comes from an old postcard, reveals 14 sternwheel riverboats berthed along the waterfront, or pulled up on the ways. You can tell it is old, because of the scattering of buildings among the spruce trees in the background.

I thought that it might be possible to narrow down the date the photo was taken, but I encountered two obstacles that made it a challenge. First, the image is a halftone, that is composed of countless tiny dots. Any attempt to read the names of the riverboats was impossible.
