A warm and increasingly humid air mass will build across New Jersey this week, with a chance of scattered thunderstorms developing Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Temperatures will climb into the upper 80s to low 90s, with heat indexes approaching the mid-90s.
The National Weather Service forecasts a gradual increase in humidity and heat through midweek.
Temperatures will reach 87 to 92 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday. Heat indexes will be near 95 degrees, though not quite reaching heat advisory criteria.
“The heat and humidity return this week along with a chance for some showers and storms,” the weather service said. “The end of the work week doesn’t look too bad though!”
