OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - Windy Hollow Speedway made history on Sunday.

According to a press release, for the first time in its 55-year history, the track hosted free general admission night.

Over 1,100 fans filled the grandstands with standing room only as the night progressed.

Officials say a total of 14 open wheel modified cars entered the event.

As part of the event, Mr. George Ballard led the National Anthem on the track in the original 1947 John Deere that was purchased by the company when they started.
