FRANKFORT, Ky. (WEVV) — Kentucky State Police recently welcomed 64 new cadets to the agency's training academy.

According to KSP, Cadet Class 106 consists of 64 people beginning their law enforcement careers.

The new Cadets were welcomed on Sunday, August 10th.

We're told the Cadets will undergo an intensive 24-week training regimen, with more than 1,000 hours of instruction and hands-on training in areas such as constitutional law, crisis response, criminal investigations, traffic law, and community engagement.

KSP says the curriculum will also include weapons training, emergency medical response, high-speed pursuit tactics, crowd control, and hazardous materials.

Cadets in Class 106 represent 48 counties across Kentucky, including Henderson and Hopkins County.
