APALACHICOLA, Fla. (WCTV) -The Florida Highway Patrol and Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies are on the scene of a deadly head-on crash on the Apalachicola side of the Highway 98 bridge.

FHP tells WCTV the time of the crash was around 8:50 am.

A spokesperson for FHP confirmed one death as a result of the crash.

The other driver involved was taken to a local hospital, but their condition was not immediately known.

According to FCSO, the entire span of the bridge was still closed as of 9:42 am as crews worked to clear the scene.
