Longe Optical plans an open house Saturday to celebrate the grand reopening of its 3409 N. Anthony Blvd. store location, which has undergone extensive renovations.

An invitation-only ribbon cutting was scheduled for today with representatives from Fort Wayne City Council and local chamber alliance, Greater Fort Wayne, Inc.

General Manager Josh Quintana said in a statement that a "remodel was necessary to modernize our space while preserving the historic charm of our building." Quintana also said customer needs and industry standards evolve over time.

The cost of upgrading the more than 60-year-old store is not being disclosed, a spokesman said in an email response. Renovations include upgraded exam technology, improved lighting, and a streamlined store layout to improve patient flow and
