CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland-area beachgoers can enjoy the water at Edgewater, Villa Angela and Huntington beaches Monday, with all reported to be in good condition for swimming.
On Aug. 11, E. coli bacteria levels and algal blooms were expected to be within water quality standards and acceptable for swimming at Edgewater and Villa Angela beaches, according to predictions from the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District.
E. coli levels also were expected to be within water quality standards at Huntington Beach at Bay Village, according to the U.S. Geological Survey’s NowCast .
The sewer district uses computer modeling to estimate bacteria levels at local beaches. These models factor in recent weather conditions — such as rainfall, water temperature, and wind — to predict the likelihoo
