CAMERON, Mo. (KCTV) - A St. Joseph man could spend the rest of his life in prison after he allegedly traveled to meet who he believed to be a teenager to pay her for a sexual act.

Clinton County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Friday, Aug. 8, indicate that Kurt M. Hay, 33, of St. Joseph, has been charged with the attempted sexual trafficking of a child.

A probable cause statement filed by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office revealed that on Thursday, undercover law enforcement officials began to communicate with Hay electronically.

During the conversation, investigators said Hay had been told he was communicating with a 15-year-old girl. He understood that she was under the age of consent.
