Water line break reported in downtown Laredo, residents urged to avoid area

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - A water line break disrupted part of downtown Laredo late Monday morning, prompting repairs and possible service interruptions.

According to the City of Laredo Utilities Department, crews are working to repair a 6-inch water line break at 1012 Hidalgo St., affecting the 1000 block.

Drivers and pedestrians may encounter traffic disruptions, increased noise and water interruptions in the area. Nearby neighborhoods could also experience low water pressure or no service.

The city advises avoiding the area during repairs, which are expected to take six to eight hours.
