LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Texas A&M International University Police Department reported the sighting of a bobcat crossing University Boulevard on Monday morning, August 11.

Authorities are urging the university community and nearby residents to exercise caution, remain alert and avoid approaching the animal.

Any sightings should be reported to the TAMIU PD at 956-326-2100 or the Environmental Health Department at 956-326-2194. Reports can also be made through the SafeZone app.

Officials reminded the public that bobcats are wild animals and may pose a danger if they feel threatened.
