MULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) - Multnomah County has declared a state of emergency due to forecasted high temperatures.

The emergency will take effect at 12 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 11. Monday’s high temperature in Portland could reach 100 degrees.

Three daytime cooling centers will open at noon, and will provide food and water to those in need.

Gateway Church, 13300 NE San Rafael St., Portland, operated by Cultivate Initiatives

Congregation Beth Israel, 1972 NW Flanders St., Portland, operated by Do Good Multnomah

Portland Covenant Church, 4046 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Portland, operated by Multnomah County

The county says no one will be turned away from the cooling shelters and pets are welcome.
