ONTONAGON COUNTY, MI – A Wisconsin man is dead after a work site accident in the Upper Peninsula.

According to WLUC-TV , the Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office responded to Highpoint Gravel Pit in Rockland Township at 2:20 p.m. on Aug. 7.

Terry Gene Johnson, 50, of Manawa, Wisconsin was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the TV station. Details of his death were not immediately released.

The incident is being investigated by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).

SONCO Ambulance, Michigan State Police, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Rockland Volunteer Fire Department and Cane Funeral Home assisted at the scene.
