PORTAGE, MI — Multiple employees at a global manufacturing plant in Portage were taken to the hospital after a “potential exposure,” according to a company spokesperson.
Several people working in a manufacturing area at a Pfizer facility on Portage Road on the morning of Saturday, Aug. 9, reported symptoms of potential exposure to materials, the company said.
They were brought to the hospital to be evaluated, Pfizer media relations said.
All were assessed and later released from medical care, Pfizer said.
The company did not respond to follow-up questions about the incident — including how many people were hospitalized, what substance they were exposed to and if that part of the plant is currently open.
