PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- The suspect in a Sunday night standoff in Southeast Portland was identified by police Monday and is now facing a murder charge, authorities said.

On Sunday night, police responded to a home near Southeast 170th Avenue where a man had reported a woman dead.

When police arrived, the man, who they believe was armed, barricaded himself inside the home, leading to a standoff that lasted several hours.

Eventually, officers used flashbangs to breach the front door, and they entered the home, arresting the man and declaring the woman inside dead.

On Monday, police announced that Leonel Macias, 20, was lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center on second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon charges.

The relationship between Macias and the victim is not clear
