SPOKANE VALLEY -- Police and firefighters rescued an injured hiker near Antoine Peak over the weekend. Spokane Valley firefighters responded to a 911 call from a hiker who had injured their ankle and could not walk.

SVFD says a Spokane Police officer who was assisting by flying a drone was able to locate the hiker. Then as rescue crews approached that area, the hiker blew a whistle to let firefighters know where they were. Spokane County Fire District 9 helped rescue the hiker and bring them off the peak. SVFD says the unidentified hiker was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
