The Toledo Walleye have re-signed defenseman Bobby Russell, an ECHL veteran who has played four seasons in the league.

Russell, who was acquired by the team in a trade with Greenville last March, played in 31 regular-season games for the Walleye last season. Russell had six points with two goals and four assists for Toledo. He then appeared in one playoff game.

The native of Langley, British Columbia, finished with 16 points (4 G, 12 A) and 28 penalty minutes in 59 ECHL games last year between Toledo and Greenville.

The 25-year-old was acquired in a trade with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits in exchange for forward Casey Dornbach on Jan. 19. Russell had 10 points (2 G, 8 A) in 28 games for Greenville.
