VANCE, Ala. ( WBRC ) - With summer winding down, school is starting up again in communities and some college students who used that time for on-the-job learning are finishing internships.

You can learn a lot by just watching, but when you’re taking part in what’s happening around, there’s an opportunity for you to learn much more.

Company leaders at ARD Logistics in Vance make sure their interns are active participants in their college internships with the company.

It welcomes students from underserved communities and small colleges into its internship program.

This summer, the business opened that program up to 10 students, which is a new record for ARD.
