DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WEVV) — A ribbon-cutting ceremony is happening Tuesday for a new picnic shelter at Yellow Creek Park in Owensboro.

The event is happening at 1:30 p.m., marking the most significant investment in years for the county park facilities.

In addition to the rebuilt Shelter #1, work is advancing on the new restroom building at Yellow Creek Park and a replacement for the Whispering Wind picnic shelter at Panther Creek Park.

Officials say additional improvements are coming in the 2025-2026 Fiscal Year.

Yellow Creek Park is located on the east side of Owensboro at 5710 Kentucky Highway 14
