MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Wisconsin will be joining a multistate effort aimed at cracking down on illegal robocalls, state Attorney General Josh Kaul announced Monday.
The Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force, launched in 2022 and made up of 51 attorneys general, created the Robocall Roundup effort to crack down on robocalls across the country.
“Wisconsinites shouldn’t have to receive so many irritating robocalls,” said Kaul. “We remain committed to working to decrease the number of these calls.”
In the letters, the Task Force warned 37 telecom companies that they must act now to stop alleged illegal robocalls from being routed through their networks, Wisconsin Department of Justice said.
