ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. — A prayer vigil for South Carolina Trooper First Class Dennis Ricks, who was struck during a traffic stop early Sunday , will be held on Monday evening.
"We invite everyone to join us in showing love and support for Trooper Ricks, his wife, family, and all of our State Troopers," the Orangeburg County Fire District said in a Facebook post . "Your presence and prayers would mean so much during this difficult time."
Ricks was conducting a traffic stop on the interstate when he was struck by a box truck while walking back to his patrol car. He was transported to a hospital in North Charleston where he remained in critical condition on Monday, August 11.
