EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – An 86-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle early Monday morning in Edwardsville, IL.

According to the Edwardsville Police Department, The fatal traffic crash occurred around 4 a.m. in the 200 block of East Union Street. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

The Edwardsville Police Department says they are leading the investigation into the crash; however, due to the complexity of the incident, they have requested assistance from the Metro East Crash Assistance Team (MECAT) to conduct a full reconstruction of the scene.
