SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A recent social media update from the Shreveport Police Department (SPD) is bringing attention to the recent rise in vehicle burglaries.
The Shreveport-Barksdale corridor and Highland area in Districts 4 and 5 have seen a strong surge in thefts over the last three months.
Authorities linking many of these incidents to unlocked vehicles, often with keys left inside.
Cars from Kia and Hyundai that have not been updated with anti-theft software are also increasingly becoming targets for criminals.
