ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan defensive back Zeke Berry is preparing for another season without a position to call home.

After making an in-season switch from nickel to cornerback last fall, Berry continues to practice at both spots in training camp — a plan that his position coach says the staff is sticking with for now.

“It’s the same plan,” Michigan defensive backs coach LaMar Morgan said. “Zeke’s playing inside and outside right now. Every day at practice, those guys get nickel reps and outside.

“That’s our plan for Zeke — just to move him around.”

The 5-foot-11, 196-pound Berry arrived at Michigan in 2022 as a safety but barely saw the field, appearing in two games as a true freshman — one of them on special teams. While he struggled to break through on the depth chart in 2023, his
