SEYMOUR, Connecticut — When the town of Seymour was hit with massive floods a year ago, it washed away cars, businesses, and livelihoods. You could see that devastation very clearly at Klarides Village.

That's where FOX61 reported last year that 14 of the 16 businesses in the plaza were destroyed- within hours. One of those businesses is Woodland Wine & Spirits. Owner Neil Patel said the holidays are some of the busiest times for his business- and he was afraid they'd miss both Thanksgiving and Christmas. He said it nearly took a miracle to open back up just months after the flood, on Nov. 21.

"This is a, it's a lot of work. It's a lot of work. The first of all when this happened, I give up. The fist time, not able to keep open the store," Neil said.
