Multiple Jefferson County Public Schools students and a bus driver suffered minor injuries after a tree branch shattered a bus windshield the afternoon of Aug. 11, officials said.

The bus was traveling in the 9600 block of Watterson Trail in Jeffersontown when a tree branch fell and "penetrated the front windshield," Jeffersontown Police Department detective Mike Lauder said in a news release. The bus driver suffered minor injuries and received treatment on the scene, while roughly 10 students "received superficial scratches from glass and the branch," Lauder said. No one was hospitalized.
