Western Antelope Valley Foothills, Eastern Antelope Valley Foothills and Antelope Valley are the focus of an updated extreme heat warning released at 7:36 p.m. on Monday by the National Weather Service. The warning is in effect until Tuesday Aug. 12, at 9 p.m.

The NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA said, “Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 109 degrees expected. Also, overnight temperatures will remain in the 80s in the foothills above 3000 feet elevation.”

“There is a high risk for dangerous heat illness for anyone, especially for the very young, the very old, those without air conditioning, and those active outdoors,” the NWS said.
