BURLINGTON, Iowa (KWQC) - Police are investigating after they say a man forced his way into an elderly woman‘s home Friday night.

Burlington police responded about 3:25 a.m. Saturday to the 700 block of Arch Street for a reported burglary, according to a media release.

Officers said that about 11 p.m. Friday, a man forced his way into the home of an elderly woman. He assaulted her and then left the home.

Police said the man has not been identified.

The woman was treated for her injuries, police said.
