A 44-year-old man from Vancouver Island died Monday following a two-vehicle crash on B.C.’s mainland, according to BC Highway Patrol (BCHP).
Police say they were called to the serious crash along Highway 3, between Sunshine Valley and the western entrance to Manning Park, around 10 a.m. Aug. 11.
The Island man from Errington was riding a red Harley Davidson motorcycle during the collision, which also involved a white Toyota minivan, BCHP says in a news release.
The incident caused “major traffic delays,” with the highway southeast of Hope being shut down “to investigate and clear up the collision,” reads the release.
It goes on to say BCHP has taken over the investigation, which is in its early stages – and speed is being investigated as a factor.
