GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - One ECU construction management major spent the summer doing something he says will help put the program on the map.

Dylan Ramirez-Zarate says after getting a number of rejection letters, he landed the internship of a lifetime that let him help with renovations at two notable New York City spots.

“There’s so many things I could say. Really, the best word is just... incredible,” Ramirez-Zarate said after completing his work on the Apollo Theater and the Jewish Museum.

Ramirez-Zarate is a New Yorker himself, but decided to go to ECU to major in construction management.

He says adapting to the south took a little bit of time.
