Johnstown firefighters receive Valor Award for rescuing woman

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) — Three Johnstown firefighters are being recognized after they rescued a woman from a burning house.

Eric Miller, Benjamin Peacock, and Joseph Paiano Jr. were awarded the Valor Award during an award ceremony at the Western PA Firemen's Association Convention in New Kensington. The five-day convention ended on Monday.

On the evening of April 25, a call went out for a house fire with entrapment on the 800 block of Annie Avenue in Dale Borough. A total of five fire departments responded, including Dale Borough Fire Company, Johnstown Fire Department, Oakland Volunteer Fire Company, Cover Hill Fire Company, and West Hills Regional Fire Department.
