The shot damaged parts of Kourtney’s brain and required extensive medical care and rehab.
Collins pleaded guilty to assault and kidnapping in 2021 and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Despite what she has been through, her family says that Kourtney is a living miracle.
Kourtney’s family, including her mother Kristy, now advocates for resources for domestic violence victims, like lifetime protection orders, which were introduced in Missouri in 2021.
