EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - A developing story in the city’s housing sector.

The Evansville Housing Authority, or EHA, says there’s a delay in payments to property owners.

They say a lack of federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development caused a delay in assistance payments for August.

While they say plans are in place to resolve the problem, we’ve also heard from those affected by the delay, who say this could have a big impact on renters.

One property manager reached out to 14 News, saying tens of thousands of dollars in payments are at risk.

They say they’re not certain when they will receive rent payments, and they fear this could lead to residents losing their homes.
