EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - A 37-year-old Evansville man is being charged after a shootout near the Glenwood neighborhood.

Around 7 p.m. Saturday, Evansville Police officers were called to Judson Street and Sweetser Avenue after “20 shots” were heard in the area.

A 911 caller reported seeing a shootout between a man with an AR style rifle and two other men.

Officers arrived and spoke to several witnesses on scene, who led investigators to determine Brandon Whitehead was involved in the shooting.

Police say they went to his home and discovered he had a gunshot wound on his foot. First responders treated Whitehead on scene and then took him to the hospital.

Through witness statements and surveillance footage, officers determined Whitehead started an argument just before the shooting.
