OWENSBORO, KY. (WFIE) - A longtime Owensboro institution kicked off a special academic year with bubbles and messages of togetherness.
Brescia University is celebrating its 100th year after being founded back in 1925.
On the first day of classes Monday, students met in O’Bryan’s Dining Hall for food and conversation. For one student, it was a nostalgic moment.
“I saw all these freshmen right now and it gave me that feeling of how I felt when I came here,” Lucas Santos said.
Santos says he saw a lot of familiar faces amongst the freshmen in the cafeteria. That’s because he is a freshman orientation leader.
“Just being able to help them and guide them through what I passed through it and just making easier for them,” Santos said. “That was the best.”
