A man died when his pickup truck crashed off a road in Fayston, Vermont, on Monday morning, police said.

Shawn Keating, of Duxbury, Vermont, drove off of North Fayston Road and into a tree near Abbey Road just before noon, according to Vermont State Police.

The 60-year-old, who wasn't wearing a seatbelt, became trapped in his GMC 3500, and he died while emergency workers from around the area worked to get him out, police said.

Police were investigating what happened; they didn't immediately say what might have led to him veering off the road.
