County leaders, educators and students celebrated the ongoing renovation of Christiansburg High School last week with a ribbon cutting for the newly completed addition to the building. After using three separate entrances over the past two school years, the new main entrance and walkway and front visitor and handicapped parking lots are open as Montgomery County students return to classes Wednesday.
The latest stage of construction marks the completion of a new academic wing with 22 classrooms, the library, cafeteria, restrooms, clinic, main office, counseling office and resource rooms. The new bus loop also is complete and newly paved.
