ReNew the New’s annual fall river cleanup happens Sept. 6 and registration is open for volunteers who want to help, according to organizers.

To register, visit www.ReNewtheNew.org . The event begins at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 6 at Whitt-Riverbend Park outside Pearisburg.

The morning of the event, after participants are registered, and groups are formed with captains, buses will leave for the cleanup sites on the river where participants will be provided with canoes, trash bags and gloves. Volunteers can bring their own water vessels (kayaks, canoes, or rafts) and you must indicate that on your registration to help with the logistic planning for the event.
