This upcoming week will be an improvement for temperatures overall, as we saw each day running at least 3 degrees above average. We have cooled down to below or near average temperatures across much of the Western Slope. In turn, we have seen smoke drift further towards the south. Low pressure coming from the Pacific northwest pushed some heat further south, but also has given us the northerly flow which has kept the outdoors smoky. Tomorrow we can expect an improvement in air quality, but it won't be till Thursday that we truly escape the northerly flow that has brought smoke down from Rio Blanco county.
Temperatures will be warming up as we head into the midweek. Tomorrow's high will be 97°, and we'll reach 99° on Wednesday! Then, another low pressure system approaches us from the north
