OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEVV) — Daviess County Fiscal Court will celebrate a major milestone with the completion of a new picnic shelter at Yellow Creek Park.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for Tuesday, August 12th at 1:30 p.m. to unveil the rebuilt Shelter #1, marking the most significant investment in county park facilities in years.

Work is also progressing on a new restroom building at Yellow Creek Park and a replacement for the Whispering Wind picnic shelter at Panther Creek Park.

Additional improvements are anticipated in the 2025-2026 Fiscal Year.

Yellow Creek Park is located on the east side of Owensboro at 5710 Kentucky Highway 144, with Shelter #1 situated near the spray park, restrooms, and pickleball courts.
