SUVA, Fiji (HawaiiNewsNow) - Musicians, family, and mourners from around the South Pacific gathered Tuesday in Fiji to honor the life of renowned international music superstar George Brooks Veikoso, more commonly known as Fiji.

The 55-year-old died on July 24 in his home nation of Fiji, surrounded by family. His death gripped fans across the Pacific and around the world.

Loved ones who knew him best gathered in the Vodafone Arena as the services were livestreamed to fans who tuned in from around the world.

Hawaii entertainer Danny Kennedy spoke about the bond he shared with Fiji, sharing how much he was loved in the islands.

“People who have never heard him before, as you could imagine, were simply amazed,” Kennedy said.
