HUDSON, Ohio (WJW) - Police video released to the FOX 8 I-Team shows the moment a Hudson police officer fired his gun at a man that was coming at him with a hammer.

The video shows the Hudson officer confronting the suspect who was holding a hammer. The incident happened around 4 a.m. on August 7.

"Sir, stop walking,” the officer yelled at the suspect.

"I will not stop walking. You accept God,” the suspect yelled back. Police said the suspect then “aggressively confronted” the officer. A 15-second encounter ended with police opening fire. Seconds after the suspect was shot, police started first aid and called for an ambulance.

The suspect, Carlos Warner, 54, of Hudson, was shot three times and taken to the hospital. Warner’s attorney, Michael Goldberg, said Warner remains hospitalized
