WASHINGTON D.C., DC — It's been nearly two months since 21-year-old Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, a Congressional intern, was shot and killed near the Washington Convention Center.
Just days later, three-year-old Honesty Cheadle was also killed in a tragic shooting while in the backseat of her father's car. Now, the mothers of both victims are speaking out, praising President Trump's recent decision to federalize control of the D.C. police.
Tamara Tarpinian-Jachym, Eric's mother, shared the pain of losing her son, describing him as "the kindest person you could be."
She still writes to him daily. "I talk to Eric a lot. I still text him every day. It's very, very difficult."
