LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - With countless bars and entertainment venues, live and loud music is a hymn of Louisville’s Highlands neighborhood.
It’s also a hot topic for businesses like Big Bar on Bardstown Road. The bar’s owner hosted a community sound study organized by Councilman Ben Reno-Weber to assess just how loud the nightlife can be.
“Part of the magic of the Highlands is that we’ve got this really close intersection of a vibrant restaurant and music scene,” Reno-Weber said.
Musicians and community members from across District 8 played instruments and music as loud as they could to see how sound carries and impacts people living nearby.
