KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Knoxville Police Department had a group from its Search and Rescue K-9 Unit down in Texas to help with search and rescue efforts after the flooding there.

Candy Stooksbury and her K-9, Pearl, went down to Texas after a nonprofit called 300 Justice Road asked for their help searching for Cile Stewart, a girl still missing from Camp Mystic after the flooding.

“A lot of the debris was gone, but I mean there was still houses completely demolished and still quite devastating,” Stooksbury said.

Stooksbury has been a part of this team for KPD since it began nearly three decades ago. Pearl is now her third dog to be trained in these types of situations. The
