On Tuesday at 3:57 a.m. the National Weather Service released a heat advisory valid from 8 a.m. until Wednesday 8 a.m. for St. Lawrence, Franklin, Clinton and Essex counties.

"Heat index values up to 95 degrees expected," states the weather service. "Following another hot and sunny day, relief will be limited at night with low temperatures only cooling to around 70 degrees. Structures will not efficiently cool off in these conditions. Heat impacts are cumulative, and those without access to adequate cooling will be at the most risk to developing heat related illnesses."

"An extended duration of hot conditions may cause heat related illnesses," adds the weather service.
