Jennifer Metcalfe is widely recognised for her role as Mercedes McQueen in Hollyoaks .

The 41-year-old actress first graced the Channel 4 soap as the beloved character in 2006.

Her compelling portrayal of Mercedes also saw her reprise the role in the show' s spin-off series, Hollyoaks Later, from 2008 to 2020.

Interestingly, Jennifer was initially considered for the role of Clare Devine, now played by Gemma Bissix, before her own character was conceived.

In 2014, Jennifer took a break from Hollyoaks when it seemed that Mercedes had been killed off, only to make a comeback the following year, reports the Daily Star .
