The Boots vs. Badges Softball Tournament provides financial support for Miracle League of the Northshore programs and events, and it also gives various public service departments a chance to talk smack.
“When our team gets together, we’re playing to win,” said Brian Macaluso, assistant chief of fire prevention for St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 1. “Our team is pretty stout, and we can always tell that deep down, the cops want to be firemen anyway.”

Check in starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, at Coquille Park in Covington. The first games get underway at 8:30 a.m., and the championship is slated for 2:30 p.m., weather permitting.
