PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)– The Nonviolence Coalition in Providence is honoring the late Cedric Huntley, the organization’s former executive director, with “Mr. Ced Day” on Tuesday.

The day comes after the city of Providence honored Huntley himself, renaming Richardson Street in Elmwood “Cedric Huntley Way.”

Huntley died on July 10 last year at 65 years old. Tuesday would have marked his 67th birthday.

To honor his memory, the Nonviolence Center on Oxford Street will be hosting the celebration, which will include food, games and performances.

The event will begin at 4 p.m., and is scheduled to end at 7.
